A full summer garden border and no subtle planting inspired this painting. A border full of mixed clashing vibrant colour is to me a such a joyful sight. It was almost as if you could hear the flowers laughing!
This mixed media painting is 80cm x 60cm in size.
Description:
Painting on a background of mulberry paper, which gives the painting some background texture, I used a combination of acrylic paints, inks and pastels to create this vibrant flower painting. A piece of map represents the earth which obviously has a big smile. Who doesn't want to smile at all these jolly flowers? I added paper spots of laughter - "ha ha"'s, "hee hee"s and "tee hee"s were added amongst the flowers, When I had finished painting I stitched sequins into the picture to give a little sparkle in the flowers. The overall result is a very vibrant and joyful painting.
The painting has a pretty frayed edge and is mounted on paper. I have handwritten the title on the paper underneath the picture.. The painting is signed by me. The painting would come rolled in a tube ready for framing.
